Lavendula angustifolia/officialis
Lavender has been used since ancient times as much for its delicate perfume as for its medicinal properties.
Romans added lavender to their bath water, and in the eighteen century it was widely used for soaps and perfumes. It is beneficial for all skin types and is useful for insomnia, anxiety, headache, depression, rheumatism, sore throat, ‘flu, acne, burns and insect bites.
Lavender is a natural antibiotic, antiseptic, anti-depressant, sedative and de-toxifier which promotes healing and prevents scarring.
It also stimulates the immune system and contributes to the healing process by stimulating the cells of a wound to regenerate more quickly.
WARNING: Emmenagogue- should not be used until fourth month pregnancy. Do not use on persons with low blood pressure.
